Postal History 1869 (August), envelope addressed to Scotland bearing a single 1/- green (SG 26a) tied by ‘4’ BONC with poorly inked ‘4’ resembling a ‘1’. With proving KING WILLIAMS TOWN (23 Aug) Dated Town Oval and Cape Town (28 Aug) transit struck alongside. Glasgow (11 Oct) transit and Mary Hill (11 Oct) arrival backstamps. Very scarce early usage of a 1/- used alone on cover.
