1876 4d orange-yellow, major variety IMPERFORATE BETWEEN, vertical strip of three. Perforated at top only and showing portion of stamp at base, plated as positions 2, 5, 8 and part of 11. Large part gum, fresh and very fine. A RARITY. SG 18a var.
Note: apparently two sheets showing this variety are known, and as yet no explanation has been found as to why they were split as they were, some with two complete stamps plus part of a third or alternatively three complete stamps with portion of a fourth |
