| 1946 21st July, cover bearing KGVI 6d and 1/- plus 3d large Falls (SG 44, 48, 35b), cancelled 'SALISBURY'. Sent from a German internee at No. 2 Tanganyika Camp as endorsed on reverse flap and sent airmail to German Bavaria. Opened at left and re-sealed with printed clear 'OPENED BY' tape, and struck with black sc 'U. S. CIVIL CENSORSHIP / PASSED / GERMANY' cachet. An unusual and very late useage. |
