Postal History / Anglo-Boer War period 1901 (August), censored envelope addressed to Holland. Bearing a single 2½d pale ultramarine (SG 63) tied by a PAARL (20 Aug) single circle datestamp. With a black on red-orange ‘Opened under Martial Law.’ censor label endorsed ‘H.B. 20/8/01’, affixed partly over the adhesive as well as a ‘P’ in circle handstruck in violet at Paarl. Scheveningen (10 Sep) arrival backstamp.
