Postal History 1831 (October), outer wrapper addressed to Cape Town bearing a ‘Post Office / General’ (8 Oct) crowned circular datestamp struck on arrival. An endorsement on the flap indicates the wrapper originated from the ‘Agent at Somerset’. With a large rating ‘1/1’ crossed through and replaced with ‘2/2’, both in red manuscript.
