| Postal History / Postage Dues 1950 (20th April), cover from South Africa addressed to Kitwe franked with a Johannesburg (20 Apr) ½d meter cancellation in red, further bearing a slogan (‘Petrol is Precious / Save It’) cancellation. The cover was taxed and bears a circular ‘T/1D’ taxe marking struck in black and a postage due 1d grey-black (SG D1) was affixed and tied by a KITWE (25 Apr) double circle datestamp. A fine example of an incoming taxed cover. |
