| 1961 (7th June), airmail envelope sent registered to England. Bearing QEII 5/- black and violet-blue surcharged ‘50c’ (SG 166) tied by a LOBATSI (7 June) double circle datestamp. Lobatsi registration cachet struck in violet with number “OP 1110” in manuscript (the meaning of 'OP' is unclear). The reverse with a large Lobatsi oval datestamp (7 June) struck in violet, Mafeking (8 June) transit and London (11 June) arrival backstamps. Probably philatelic though attractive. |
