1937 (16th August), incoming envelope sent airmail from Pontresina, Switzerland, bearing 1F.05c postage. Various manuscript markings indicate the cover was underpaid and on arrival in South Africa the cover received a ‘T/3d’ circular tax marking and a postage due 3d deep blue and blue (SG D28w) was affixed and tied by a Johannesburg (24 Aug) double circle datestamp. The reverse with a large (postal?) ‘Duplicate’ bilingual boxed datestamp (24 Aug). |
