Addressed to ‘Messrs Adams & Co / Stationers / Maritzburg’ (Natal). Bearing a superb crisp UBOMBO / ZULULAND (6 AUG 1896) single circle datestamp struck in violet. Signed at lower left 'D. Bruce' the resident Magistrate. The reverse with Melmoth / Zululand (10 Aug), NONGOMA / ZULULAND (8 Aug) single circle in violet, Eshowe / Zululand (11 Aug), Durban (12 Aug) and G.P.O. Natal (13 Aug) transit / arrival backstamps. A magnificent cover. Ex Danson, Robson and Wilson Wong. |
