| 1961 (14th February), First Day Cover addressed to Bloemfontein. Bearing set of ten decimal surcharge duties, ½c to R1. Missing the 2½c on 2d red-brown though including the scarce 2½c on 3d bright ultramarine (SG 157-8, 160-167a). Interestingly, the R1 is Type II which was supposedly issued a month later on the 17th March. All tied by neat LOBATSI (14 Feb 61) double circle datestamps (converted Royal Visit datestamps with blank at top). |
