Orange River Colony KEVII 1d carmine embossed postal stationery envelope uprated with additional Transvaal KEVII 6d black and orange (SG 266) tied / cancelled with Stellenbosch (31 Jan) double circle datestamps. Addressed within the Cape and sent via the post office Express service with printed black on pale pink ‘POST OFFICE. / EXPRESS’ label affixed at upper left. Wynberg Cape (31 Jan) backstamp. A wonderful interprovincial combination and early example of the rarely seen express service.
