| Revenue / Tribal Tax 1944 (April), official printed bilingual ‘Tribal Fund. Registration Certificate.’ (127x143mm). The reverse with printed boxed spaces for years 1942 to 1947. The box for 1943 bears a 3d definitive overprinted and surcharged 'Ondonga / 5/-' in red while the box for 1944 also bears a 3d definitive though overprinted and surcharged 'Ukuanyama / 5/-'. Both are tied by ‘Superintendent of Natives / Walvis Bay’ oval cachets, apparently applied on the same date in April 1944. It is believed the use of stamps overprinted for different tribes was against regulations when used together (this card being one of three recorded examples). Folded horizontally, clear of adhesives, and some soiling as to be expected. Rare. |
