| Postal History / Postage Dues 1938 (29th April), window envelope underfranked at 1d meter frank cancellation, Port Elisabeth and presumably addressed to NKANA, with arrival backstamp dated 4th May. Endorsed in blue crayon ‘T 1d’, and struck with black circular ‘T / 1d’ plus violet straight line ‘INSUFFICIENTLY PREPAID’ bilingual cachets. Then applied with lower portion of a right marginal horizontally biected 2d due, indistinctly cancelled. Opening tear at top and minor stains, an attractive example of this scarce temporary use.
