| 1879 Provisional ‘THREE PENCE’ surcharged in red on 4d blue with thin bar through the old value. Showing the variety ‘THREF’ for ‘THREE’ (due to broken ‘E’). Also, the letters ‘P’, ‘N’ and ‘C’ in ‘PENCE’ appear to be from a smaller font. Fine used with very light Barred Oval Numeral Canceller. SG 34 vars
