| BRITISH EAST AFRICA 1890-95 group of 13 values all in upper marginal BLOCKS OF FOUR, taken from the single imprimatur sheets ex the Bradbury Wilkinson archive. Comprising ½a x 2, 1a, 2½a x 2, 3a x 2, 4½a x 2, 4r, 5r and 1895 5a and 7½a, including the 1892 2½a yellow-buff, 1891 3a dull red and 1891 4½a dull violet which are otherwise almost unobtainable in blocks. All are very fresh unused (ungummed) and represent the ‘complete set’ as listed by Minns (2006, p27), with six blocks showing partial watermarks. Odd short perfs though a superb reference for the different colours and papers represented. SG 4b/c, 5b, 7b/c, 8/a, 11/a, 18, 19, 29, 30. A most attractive and impressive group. |
