| POSTAL HISTORY 1890 (31st August), ½d orange postal stationery card cancelled with a neat ‘19’ in 16-bar oval with proving strike of REDDERSBURG (AU 31 90) single circle datestamp below, both struck in purple. Addressed to the Cape with ALIWAL NORTH (4 Sep) single circle transit struck at left, with Bloemfontein (1 Sep) transit and Lady Grey (3 Sep) arrival backstamps. Light unobtrusive horizontal crease and some indents, otherwise a fine proving card for Reddersburg with attractive coloured cancellations. |
