| 1966 17th January, printed First Day cover bearing complete set of the Independence overprints with 5/- Churchill and not Cattle, cancelled 'SALISBURY'. Sent registered airmail to London and upon arrival struck with small violet boxed 'STAMP(S) NOT VALID WHERE POSTED / TO PAY' endorsed '4/3'. However, this apparently ignored and reverse applied with GB 2/6 and £1 x two dues. Attractive and most unusual. |
