1925 8th September, grey printed ‘QUITRENT RECEIPT’, the reverse applied with a remarkable EIGHT 7/6 Admiral revenues (Mewett 215), each pen cancelled and violet oval strikes. Issued for farm ‘Part of Dalmagane’ in respect of eight years rent. Some creasing, most attractive.
Note: the Quitrent duty payable was based on the size of the land in question, measured in morgen. In this instance the land was in excess 500 morgen, thus the duty payable was 7/6 for each of the eight years |
