| Postal History (South African Occupation) 1918 (9th December), NATAL QV 4d stationery registered envelope (long size H2), bearing King's Heads ½d, 3d and 4d (SG 3, 8, 10), each cancelled 'TSUMEB / 9 DEC 18 / S.W.AFRICA', addressed to Switzerland. Struck with 'Tsumeb' registration cachet then further two violet 'PASSED CENSOR' cachets, '7/99' and B/100', the latter over censor tape at right. Arrival backstamp (25.1.19). Most attractive and unusual. |
