| 1941 June, incoming printed and uprated stationery envelope from Russia and addressed to Nkana. Opened at left then resealed with South African bilingual 'OPENED BY CENSOR' tape. Apparently this would have travelled overland via Siberia to Cape Town, where it was censored. Addressed to one Mr. Rosenblatt, who may well have been a Jewish refugee from Eastern Europe who made their way to Northern Rhodesia. Most attractive and highly unusual. |
