1914 (16th April), picture postcard with black and white photographic view titled ‘U.D.M.R. CAMP, UTRECHT, 1911.’ showing what appear to be military tents. Bearing a King’s Head ½d green (SG 3) tied by a large UTRECHT / SOUTH / AFRICA (16 APR) double circle datestamp. With HLOBANE / NATAL (APR 17) double circle arrival datestamp struck on the view side. It is not immediately clear what ‘U.D.M.R.’ stands for (Union Defence Military Reserve ?) or what was happening in Utrecht in 1911. Scarce postmark.
