1886 Cape 1d rose-red overprinted ‘British Bechuanaland’ in black. Showing the variety OVERPRINT DOUBLE. Very fine used with part of a Barred Oval Numeral Cancellation (appears to be ‘534’ of Kuruman). Clear BPA certificate (2012). Very rare especially in such exceptional condition. SG 5c
Note: The Bechuanaland & Botswana Society recorded 11 examples of this variety, of which three are in museums. All are used and most show use at Kuruman.
