CAPE OF GOOD HOPE
BA113
1905 13th March, two page letter written on 'GOVERNMENT HOUSE, CAPE TOWN' notepaper. Written by Walter Hely-Hutchinson as Governor at the time, and addressed to one H.A. Miers, 'I hope you will stay with me from 15th - 19th August, whilst the British Assn is here'. Miers was Professor of Mineralogy at the University of Oxford, Magdalen College and did indeed stayed with the Governor during the tour. A most unusual survivor.
