| South Africa 1911 First Flight Souvenir card to Rosebank with "New Year Greeting / from / The Vacuum oil Company" in blue on reverse. Card flown from Kenilworth to Muizenberg both with "First South African/Aerial Post" Kenilworth and Muizenberg commemorative date stamps. Also Kenilworth (23.12, Muizenberg (28.12) and Rosebank (28.12) post office cancels on face of card. Very rare and only the second example of this "Vacuum Oil" card I have seen in 40+ years of trading. The other card was in the Neville Polakow collection which was ex Jeidel. |
