1960 ROYAL VISIT. Group of 18 registered and printed 'PHILATELIC SOCIETY OF RHODESIA' covers, each bearing either 5/- QE definitive (SG 29), 5/- Kariba (SG 37) or 1/- and 5/- Kariba (SG 34, 37). An apparently complete set of the 18 towns or cities visited, the following with special oval crested 'ROYAL TOUR' strike with town below:

Bulawayo 17th May, Salisbury 17th May, Kariba 17th May, Mongu 18th May, Kitwe 21st May, Lusaka 21st May, Lilongwe 23rd May, Zomba 25th May

The following with special oval crested 'ROYAL TOUR' strike but without town below, but struck with town dated cds alongside:

Gwelo 16th May, Mufulira 20th May, Chingola 20th May, Fort Jameson 23rd May, Mzuzu 24th May, Salima 25th May, Limbe 27th May, Blantyre 27th May, Cholo 28th May and Mlanje 28th May.

An attractive group, some with light staining and creases, all sent to DETT with receiving strikes on reverse.
