T609 1879 QV 6d surcharged ‘1 Penny’. Large part reconstruction of the setting, a total of 46 stamps (including four with red surcharges), mainly used. Comprising Type 10 (8, including two mint and one red), Type 11 (3), Type 12 (4, including one mint), Type 13 (8, including one mint, one unused with fault and one red), Type 14 (2 including one apparently unused), Type 15 (17, including one mint, one unused and two red), Type 16 (4). Condition is generally very fine and considerably above average for these delicate stamps. An impressive and rare grouping. SG catalogue is over £2300.
