AS566 REVENUE FORGERIES of the 1967 Decimal Arms Revenue Issue in complete imperforate sheetlets of 25 (5x5), printed on gummed paper (overall 192 x 228mm) with marginal guide markings. Comprising five sheetlets in the following duties: R10, R20, R50, R100 and R200 with colours very close to the issued stamps. These forgeries are believed to be the work of a Norwegian forger, K.H. Larsen and emanate from the trial of the Meyerson brothers who were convicted in May 1968 of defrauding the State. The R50 sheetlet with manuscript endorsement in upper margin on reverse and some with pin-holes in the upper left corner and all sheets with staple indents in the upper margins. Otherwise all are very fine / superb. A rare group from this fascinating fraud case which is estimated to have cost the State R175,000 in lost revenue. Two complete sheets of each of the five duties are believed to exist. £1,100
